WHAT IF THIS IS THE YEAR?

What if 2025 is when you make the best work of your life?

The WRITE STUFF isn't about resolutions. It isn't about making a bunch of wild rules you won't be able to follow. It's not about building a longer To-Do list.

It's about remembering who you are and what you want.

It's about reconnecting to your biggest vision for your life as an artist.

It's about reclaiming your time, your boundaries, your art.

Join THE WRITE STUFF and set yourself up for your most creative year yet.

We will meet on Zoom for 90 minutes.

During the workshop, I will give a short presentation demystifying urgency.

Then I will lead you through several writing exercises to help you:

  • Connect with your biggest vision for your life as an artist
  • Make & keep promises that support your creative work
  • Reflect on your habits and keep the ones that work for you (and let go of the ones that don't)
  • Set intentions for the new year so you can make the best work of your life

I'm Sarah Sentilles --

and I hope you'll join me for this FREE workshop.

So many writing coaches out there promise quick fixes. They trade in urgency and scarcity and fear. This workshop and my philosophy about creativity are the opposite of that.

In THE WRITE STUFF, I'm going to share with you what helps me stay committed to my art. I've been writing seriously for almost 30 years. And in that time I've learned how important it is to stay connected to my biggest vision. To be intentional about boundaries. To protect time for what matters. I've also learned writing is primarily about listening. Which means we need to slow down and trust ourselves and the ideas that visit us. (The message is always for the messenger, right?)

Here's a little bit about me: I'm the author of five books, including Draw Your Weapons, which won the 2018 PEN Award for Creative Nonfiction. My most recent book, Stranger Care: A Memoir of Loving What Isn’t Ours, was published by Random House and was a New York Times Editor’s Choice and Idaho Book of the Year. My writing has appeared in The New York TimesThe New Yorker, and The Atlantic, among other publications. I've had residencies at Hedgebrook and Yaddo. I earned a bachelor's degree at Yale and master's and doctoral degrees at Harvard. I'm also the co-founder of the Alliance of Idaho, which works to protect the human rights of immigrants. I live in Idaho's Wood River Valley, with my family.

THE WRITE STUFF

will help you:

Discover the Power of Micro-Adjustments

Change doesn't always have to mean big upheavals. Sometimes it's micro-adjustments that can get us where we need to go. Just think of birds of prey -- with a small wing adjustment, they can reach a totally new destination.

Set Yourself Up to Make Your Best Work in 2025

What if this is the year? What if you can prepare now to make your best work? Energy follows intention. This webinar is an opportunity for you to get clear about your intentions and protect the time and space you need to move toward them.

Protect What Matters (and let go of what doesn't)

During the webinar, I will lead you through exercises to help you evaluate what you'd like more of in your creative life -- and what you'd like less of. You'll spend time releasing what doesn't belong to you anymore and calling in what does.

Demystify Urgency

What if you don't have to make your work at the manic pace the world seems to demand? What if your timing is already right and perfect? What if slowing down and listening lead to better writing? I will share her insights about why you can't rush good art. Can you feel your nervous system relaxing?

Remember Your Big Vision

What is your biggest vision for your life as an artist? In the workshop, I will lead you through four questions to reconnect you to your vision and help you take steps that move you toward that vision.

Keep the Promises You Make to Your Art & Yourself

Keeping the promises we make to ourselves is a source of deep healing. When we make and keep a promise to ourselves, we remember that we are trustworthy, that our bodies are safe places to be, and that we can depend on ourselves.
